  • Listening to: Whatever I uploaded to Google Music
  • Watching: Adventure Time
  • Drinking: Water...I'm being a good boy today
Ah yes, time for beaches, waterparks, conventions, drawing, food, fun...and...uh...other things!

The other things being the shows on Cartoon Network that have been on for the past year.

I'm looking forward to the season premier of Adventure Time on July 11th. I'm really tempted to throw a Adventure Time party and have some friends over. I'll probably have another one when the Adventure Time with Fionna and Cake episode comes out ( adventuretimewithfinnandjake.w… ). Pen Ward is amazing. Every other episode of Adventure Time just has a comic timing I haven't seen in a cartoon in a long while. The ones inbetween (and my favorites), are the ones where they give the characters more depth. Mortal Folly/Mortal Recoil and Nightosphere are the best episodes so far.

Regular Show is also another one of my favorites. I love how the episodes just snowball into something ridiculous before the end. The inclusion of the Sega Master system is another win! J.G. Quintel...good jorb! I also love the short he made which featured some of the RS cast for the first time ( www.youtube.com/watch?v=y894QN… ). Regular Show is just one big acid trip...lol.

I do like how the creators of these shows are also doing voices. Pen as LSP and J.G. as Mordecai are great. I tried voicing QuickPaw in my own shorts, but I still can't nail down what I want him to sound like. I really need to animate more...

...oh! And the Amazing World of Gumball is realllllly cute. If I made a cartoon show, this would be it. I'm finding myself studying the animation techniques they are using more and more. I just wish they'd shop running the same promo commercial over...and over...and over again!

The Looney Tunes Show is hit or miss with me. I either find myself yawning, or laughing for 2 minutes straight. However, Daffy steals the show. He is such a jerk now, and I love it.

And Thundercats is on the way!

It might seem girly, but I am watching JEM whenever I can...and I'm trying to see My Little Pony on HUB. JEM for the nostalgia (and the crazy plotlines, the very 80s music videos and acting), and My Little Pony so I can find out what all the fuss is about...and maybe a Derpy Hooves sighting.

I don't miss Flapjack or Chowder. They were good shows, but they didn't leave a long-lasting impression on me. I just hope Adventure Time and Regular Show go into re-runs, and not get completely booted from the network. That has been happening a lot lately. I haven't seen Flapjack or Chowder on at all. They probably run on weekends or really early in the morning now. Same goes for Fosters.

I will be going to Otakon 2011 this year! I hope to meet some of you out there. I'll be in my Marty Jr hat. Can't miss me.

Ok, back to work with me.
  • Listening to: The A/C at work blowing cool, cool air...oh baby!
  • Watching: DBZ Abridged
  • Eating: McDonalds...yeah...I'm not proud of it.
  • Drinking: A nice cold beer when I get home. Yay beer!
A bit late on this one, but Otakon '09 is in the can!

The line on Friday was looooooong (yeah, 2hrs)! This is definately the last year I forget to Pre-Reg. At least I bumped into :iconchibi-jen-hen: while I was on line. It was a quick meeting since she had to find her sister.

After I got my badge, I ran over to the For Tax Reasons panel www.fortaxreasons.com . These guys were awesome! Best panel I went to in a long time. I went up and said hi, and even saw them walking around the dealer's room later that day. Nice.

I definately can't forget about meeting up with :iconstormyhotwolf88: and her bro! They are a great pair I must say. They even came up to my hotel room, and we all played BAD video games (Awesome Possum, Cheetah Men II, etc). I'm glad our room had a TV with component in...yay for homebrew'd Wii!

The highlight of the con was watching DBZ Abridged www.youtube.com/user/TeamFourS… on the big screen in Video 1. This MADE the con...seriously. If you haven't watched it yet...I highly recommend that you do!

As for art...eh...I didn't get a chance to draw anything ^_^;. I think work has taken over my creativity since I'm constantly working on websites/graphics/flash all day long. By the time I get home, I'm spent. Hopefully I'll get to invest more time over the weekends on my own stuff. Hang in there all, I'll update again!
  • Watching: The Last Unicorn on youTube
  • Eating: curry...that wasn't so great...O_o
I'll be at Katsucon this weekend! For those of you who don't know what it is:

www.katsucon.com

Just a mid-sized anime/art/etc con, but a few ppl I know will be there.  One of them being Will Rogers, the current voice of Brock on Pokemon.  I got to hang out with him at a party 2 weeks ago and he seems like a cool dude.  I'll have to bother him ^_^!

If you are going, let me know, and I'll be on the lookout for ya!  I'll be all over the con for the weekend...but mostly sitting in random places drawing.  I'll be wearing either a blue or red vest...with either a Otakon 2002 shirt...or a bright orange Renamon t-shirt.  I know I know....very generic description, right?....tough! ^_^

Well, hope everyone has a great weekend regardless! Hopefully, I'll have art to upload when I get back.  Take care!
  • Listening to: "Green Flower Zone" - SRB2 Soundtrack!
  • Playing: With Aiden! (the puppy)
  • Eating: a little of this and a little of that...
I'm a little late for this one ^_^;...but yeah....Happy New Year to all! Hehe, I had a blast!  I had a bunch of my friends from Scifi/Anime club (mostly all Alumni like myself) over for the ball drop.  We had a ton of food, watched Stallone's Over the Top with RiffTrax, played Wii, and...well...did some analog stuff too, like Jenga, and SceneIt.

Oh oh oh!!!! I also got to finish revamping my website:
www.realmofquickpaw.com

The biggest change has been behind the scenes...I made all the code web compliant!!...Yay!.....yay........woo.......umm....^_^;. Well, what that means is that the site will load faster, display on all browsers better, and makes it SOOO much easier for me to update. I also added a few little graphical spices to the site, like drop shadows on thumbnails, and such.  I also added a bunch of my old animations! I hope everyone stops by!

This is looking like a great year to come!  I really do hope I pick up animating and drawing some more...well...on stuff that ISN'T work related.  But yeah, for everyone:

HERE'S TO A AWESOME 2008!!!

P.S.  The New York Anime Festival was great! I meet the cast of Kappa Mikey and met so many nice ppl!
  • Listening to: "Still Alive" - Portal
  • Watching: Over the Top w/ RiffTrax....
  • Playing: With your head!...bwahahahahaha!
  • Eating: CoOkIeS!!!!!
Funny, I almost let this one pass me by! To make a long story short (well, it wasn't very long to begin with anyway) I was feeling some con-withdrawal since Otakon....I miss going to cons >_<! I like the atmosphere, the people, the cosplay, the artists, and the fun of it all! So, I decided to check if there was anything else around the NJ/NY area...and yep...found out about the NY Anime Festival!

It's next weekend if you didn't know, and it's shaping up to be BIG. I thought I was just going to go on Saturday, but it looks like I might go for both Fri and Sat! Friday hooked me in with Animation Runner Kuromi (I love it to death!) and a Kappa Mikey panel featuring the voices of Gonard (also played as Goku in the first season of DBZ and a ton of other stuff), and the voice of Mikey (...who...um.....maybe does other stuff????) ^_^!

Here is my "TO DO" list for the con:
  • Well, I'm going to finish working on my website Realm Of QuickPaw.com so people I meet after the con can actually see something worth their time ^_^;
  • I gotta print contact (business) cards to give out to new friends
  • Make lots and lots of prints to give away
  • Buy a new digital cam (looking at the Canon SD1000) so I can take some awesome pics!

Who else is going to the con? I wanna meet everyone I can! And if you see me, ask me for a free print ^_~!
  • Watching: Unreal Tournament 3 load....
  • Playing: UT3!....duh!
  • Eating: Enchiladas.........and paying for it
  • Drinking: ...lots and lots of water. (yet again)
Well well, after a successful computer upgrade, and months upon months of waiting for the next generation of gaming to come around...I officially have some new fav games!

  1. PORTAL! - I honiestly didn't think too much about this game a few months ago.  I figured it was going to be a cheap diversion game for the Orange Box...nothing more, nothing less.  Yeah, I was so wrong on that.  Once you get up to level 10 or so (took me about 20 min to do), the game becomes so much fun! I especially love the dark humor and the absolutely histerical song.
  2. Unreal Tournament 3 demo - To my surprise this weekend, I found out the UT 3 demo was being released to the public.  I thought it was going to go the way of Crysis and be strictly a public beta that you would have to pay to try it.  Good thing this demo is FREE! So, anywho, I installed this sucker and couldn't put it down for hours.  It's simply beautiful, fun to play....and you can use HOVERBOARDS! I totally recommended anyone out there giving this a shot (if you have the rig to support it that is)
  3. Half Life: Episode Two - It was short and pretty...oh, and fun.  That pretty much sums it up.
</ol>
Ok ok, that was boring, i know...hmm...oh! Art wise, I managed to get a few sketches done when I went to MangaNEXT a few weeks ago.  When work starts to cool down, I'll get that stuff uploaded.  Work is actually the big reason why I haven't updated very much ^_^;  I've been working on the new website for Saint Peter's University Hospital...and well...development could be going alot faster....silly management *shakes fist*

Anywho, lots of love to you all!  And here's a thank you going out to all you who have added me recently!
  • Reading: E-mails at work ^_^;
  • Watching: Steam from my boss's ears
  • Playing: BioShock the SECOND I get home! (again)
  • Eating: ...no more spicy food for a bit
  • Drinking: ...lots and lots of water. (again)
I know I know, I promised a update, but I...I have a excuse! For Reals!

You see, I was hoping that this journal entry would be all about my new computer I just built and how it is the "1337" and is "teh awsum!" and whatnot...but oh no! The fates are against me on this one. Here is what happened...

...about 2 weeks ago, I decided it was time to upgrade my computer.  Now, I build computers for fun, so this was going to be a nice little present to myself (me being such a good boy and all!).  I ordered my parts from zipzoomfly.com...which consisted of:
  • Intel e6750 Core 2 Duo
  • 2 gigs OCZ DDR2-800
  • ASUS P5K-Deluxe Wifi (boooo!)
  • OCZ GameXStream 600W Power Supply

The first sign of trouble was the delivery.  I wanted 2 days shipping....I got it in 5 =P.  Oh well, at least I got the parts, so all was forgiven (boy, that sure changed!).  I started up my comp with the new parts, and all was well.  I formatted my drive and installed Vista...after some minor driver issues, I was good to go!  This new system was FAST!...I was so giddy! *girlie chuckle*

...well...long story short...the motherboard died 3 days later.  I was like "Nooooooo!....my poor compy!....speak to me!" So, I went for 2 days without a comp, and ended up buying a new motherboard at <a href="www.microcenter.com>Micro Center...which is now my favoriate store of all time!!!!  This new Gigabyte board I got was cheaper, is faster, and more stable than the ASUS...me am happy ^_^.

So, all is fine now...I can play BioShock in peace, and I can run just about anything out there (running Half Life 2 at full frame rates at 1920x1200 is fun.....loads of fun!).  So yeah, when I get everything installed and whatnot, I'll get to add some more art and flash!
  • Reading: Harry Potter spoilers..bwahahaha!
  • Watching: Dragon's Lair HD promo
  • Playing: BioShock the SECOND I get home!
  • Eating: Level 20 hot Thai food.....*ouchies*
  • Drinking: ...lots and lots of water.
Just when it seemed like I was getting lazy again....I'M BACK! I spent the past few weeks enjoying what's left of the summer.  The latest thing being my trip down to Ocean City, NJ this past weekend.  Oooo boy, that was fun!

I pretty much went with the same group from Otakon (namely the cool people from Scifi Club).  We stayed at Commie's parent's place, which is literally 2 blocks away from the ocean.  Well, I left my place after work and took the good ol' 3 hr ride down...and promptly fell to sleep when I got there (after a short game of Trivial Pursuit).

Saturday was beach day!

The highlight of Sat was the floating island I bought...we managed to fit 5 ppl on it at one point...and that lasted until a nice wave chucked everyone off...leaving me riding the wave back to shore.  The only downside....I HAD TO BLOW THING FRIGGIN' THING UP MYSELF!  But, looking back...that was a good 45min investment for a day of fun...but don't get me started on when I had to deflate that thing ^_^;

The rest of the weekend was fun and filled with broadwalk pizza, and lots of it!  Speaking of stuff that will make you fat...I found another fun food passion of mine!  Super Spicy Thai Food!  There is this place a town over from where I work, and I gotta say, it's gooooooood.  I like the challenge of eating hot food, you know, just to see how much I can handle.  This place has almost beatin' me...I've gone up to their heat level of 10. Tonight, I'm getting 2 orders of level 20...one for me, and one of my step-bro, Ian.  TONIGHT WE DINE IN HELL!  Oh, and SPARTTAAAAAAAA!

Ok, a few more notes:
  • I bought the BioShock LE box for PC today!
  • I'm going to upload my B-day flash cartoon once I make a preloader
  • The weekend of labor day I'm heading to Bush Gardens and visiting my cousins!

Ok, tootles!
  • Listening to: Morgan Webb on X-Play
  • Reading: Harry Potter spoilers..bwahahaha!
  • Watching: Me type this thingy (again)
  • Playing: Unreal Tournament 2004 right after this
  • Eating: ...WAY too many Gram Crackers
  • Drinking: from the cup of life
Yes, Otakon came and went...and it was teh aWeSum!  I got to meet a bunch of friends from online and ran around trying to do everything I could.

Ok, here is the rundown of the weekend:

Thursday Night

After work I headed over to my Scifi Club (phobos.ramapo.edu/~scifi/) friends' place and stayed there for the night.  We ended up going to a diner and then when we got back, watched the last 2 Angry Video Game Nerd videos. I brought a air bed with me...and..well...it's HUGE!...it barely fit in Kurt's room ^_^;.  Anywho, I went right to sleep.  The only downside to the night was the cats.  Cats + me = DEATH! Yeah...I'm allergic to cats...sad but true.

Friday

After waiting in my car for everyone else to make it outside, we were off!  I popped in my new Otakon mix CD and all was well.  Hehe, I make a new one of those every year....this year has everything ranging from Kappa Mikey, the opening to Lucky Star, and even all the Care Bears songs I had.........ok, I like Care Bears...so sue me.

We got to the hotel...and all I can say is WOW...Commie really outdid himself with the room.  He managed to bag a room at the Hyatt! PLUS, we had a view of the entire inner harbor. It was teh goodness!  Definately the best hotel I've ever stayed at....period!

After getting settled, we made it to the con, and I proceeded to run around trying to find as many ppl I knew as possible.  I made it to artist alley and first met up with :iconchibi-jen-hen: .  She made the best Al (from FMA) costume! I said my hellos and whatnot, and it was good seeing her again.  She's such a sweetie ^_^.

Just around the corner, I finally met up with :iconvilsy: .  Hehe, her emo Shadow costume was great!  I introduced myself and we started talking for a bit.  I also met her b/f too!

My last stop was meeting with good ol' :icongunmouth: . I haven't seen him in like 2 years. He's a nice guy, but he gets VERY busy with his art.  I talked with him for a bit, and asked how Anthrocon was, and then was on my way.  Funny thing was, as I was leaving, I ran into Artie from TeamArtail (www.teamartail.com).

The rest of the day was a blur pretty much ^_^;...I was in and out of soooo many places, but all I can remember that I had a blast!

Saturday

Pretty much was like Friday, except that: a) Sat with :iconchibi-jen-hen: at her table and drew for a bit b)Had a drinking party in the hotel room c) Went to the con drunk afterwards d) Ended up doing Karaoke while drunk!...w00t! (Ed, Kurt, and myself sang 'Escape from the City' from Sonic Adventure 2....and ROCKED!)

Sunday

Said bye to everyone, and headed home......and then had a LONG 6 hr drive.  DANG YOU TRAFFIC!

Overall, the con was one of the best yet!  I so need to go down there early and do a Thrusday to Sunday thing....2 and 1/2 days just isn't enough ^_^;

I just wish I got to meet up with :iconquickpaw: and :iconsouldreamx:

QP signing off!~~~
  • Listening to: The strangely relaxing sound of the A/C
  • Reading: Faster than Johnny 5!
  • Watching: Me type this thingy
  • Playing: ...with your mind... O_o
  • Drinking: Bottled water actually
Hey all! After years...and years....and a few days or so...I have finally made myself a DA account! I hope this will get me off my duff and get to drawing again...well, at least I hope so ^_^;

Anywho, I'm currently at work, so I plan on uploading most of my pics later today.  If you just found me, you can check out my website at:

www.realmofquickpaw.com

It's chuck full of cutesy goodness!  Well, wish me luck here! Let this be the start of a new beginning!

*hands out cookies to everyone*
